Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information HideTap collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It applies to hidetap.com, your HideTap account and our support channels.

We collect only what we need to run your account, process payments, keep the service secure and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

Information you give us

  • Account details: your name, username and email address, and any optional profile details you add, such as phone number, country, address, date of birth, gender and profile picture.
  • Login details: your password, which we store only in hashed form, and your two-factor authentication settings.
  • Support messages: what you send us in support tickets, live chat, email or Telegram, including any files you attach.
  • Newsletter: your email address, if you sign up.

We do not ask for identity documents to open an account. We may ask for more information if we need it to investigate suspected fraud or if the law requires it.

Information created when you use HideTap

  • Wallet and card activity: deposits, card creation, top-ups, card payments, withdrawals, transfers, fees, and related details such as amounts, dates, merchant names, crypto networks, transaction IDs and wallet addresses.
  • Card details: the card number, expiry date, CVV, alias name and 3D Secure codes of cards you create, which we receive from our card partners so we can show them to you.
  • Login and device activity: your IP address, browser and device type, approximate location based on your IP address, login times and when you were last active.

Cookies and analytics

We use necessary cookies to keep you signed in, keep your session secure and remember your cookie choice. We use Google Analytics to understand how our website is used, but only if you allow analytics cookies in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your cookies. For more detail, see our Cookie Notice.

How we use your information

  • to create and run your account, wallet and cards;
  • to process deposits, card payments, top-ups, withdrawals and transfers;
  • to charge and show fees;
  • to detect and prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorized access, including by reviewing logins from new devices or locations;
  • to answer your support requests;
  • to send you service messages, such as security alerts, transaction updates and changes to our terms;
  • to send you news and offers, if you agreed to receive them (you can unsubscribe at any time);
  • to improve our website and service;
  • to meet our legal obligations and enforce our Terms and Conditions.

Who we share information with

We share information only as needed to provide HideTap:

  • Card partners, who issue and process your virtual cards. Merchants see your card's alias name, not your real name.
  • Crypto payment processors, such as Cryptomus and NOWPayments, which process your deposits.
  • Service providers that help us run HideTap, including hosting and backup storage (such as Cloudflare), email delivery, live chat (Tawk.to), Telegram for support you start there, and Google Analytics if you allow it.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it, or when we reasonably believe disclosure is needed to prevent fraud, protect our users or defend our legal rights.
  • A buyer or successor, if HideTap is sold or merged, under terms that protect your information.

These providers may process information in countries other than yours. We share only what each one needs to do its job.

How long we keep information

We keep your account information while your account is open. After it closes, we keep transaction and account records for as long as we need them to prevent fraud, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations, and then delete them. Login activity is kept for a shorter period. Copies in our backups are deleted on a rolling schedule as older backups are removed.

How we protect information

We use HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, optional two-factor authentication, restricted staff access and regular backups. No online service can be fully secure, so please use a strong, unique password and turn on two-factor authentication.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • see the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is wrong;
  • ask us to delete your information (we may need to keep some records for legal or fraud-prevention reasons);
  • receive a copy of your information;
  • object to or limit some uses, such as marketing emails.

You can update most profile details in your account settings. For anything else, email [email protected]. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

Children

HideTap is only for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has an account, contact us and we will close it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above, and for important changes we will tell you by email or in your account.
