Terms and Conditions

Last updated: November 7, 2026

These Terms explain the rules for using HideTap, including our website at hidetap.com, your HideTap account, your wallet and the virtual cards you create. "HideTap", "we" and "us" mean the operator of the HideTap service. "You" means the person using it.

By creating an account or using HideTap, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use HideTap.

1. What HideTap is

HideTap lets you deposit crypto into a wallet and use that balance to create and fund prepaid virtual USD Visa cards for paying online. Cards are issued through our card partners. HideTap is not a bank, and your wallet is not a bank account. Balances do not earn interest and are not covered by any deposit insurance scheme.

2. Who can use HideTap

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must not live in, or use HideTap from, a country we do not serve. We may block sign-ups or access from some countries.
  • You may only have one account, and it must be used by you alone.
  • The details you give us, such as your name and email address, must be true and kept up to date.

3. Your account and security

Keep your password and two-factor codes private. You are responsible for everything done through your account. We strongly recommend turning on two-factor authentication. If you think someone else has access to your account, contact us straight away at [email protected].

4. Deposits

  • You can deposit the coins and networks shown in your wallet. Always send the exact coin on the exact network shown before you deposit.
  • Crypto transfers cannot be reversed. If you send the wrong coin, use the wrong network or send to the wrong address, the funds may be lost, and we may not be able to recover them.
  • Deposits are processed by third-party crypto payment processors. A deposit is credited after the processor confirms it, and the credited USD amount is based on the processor's exchange rate at that time.

5. Virtual cards

  • Each card is a prepaid card. You can only spend the money you have moved onto it.
  • Cards are meant for online payments with supported merchants in allowed categories. Check the list of supported merchants and allowed merchant category codes (MCCs) before you pay. A payment to an unsupported merchant may be declined, and we are not responsible for declined payments.
  • Merchants see the card's alias name, not your real name.
  • Some merchants ask for a 3D Secure check at checkout. You can find the card's 3DS password and latest one-time code on the card page.
  • You can move money from your wallet onto a card (top up) and, while the card is active, move it back to your wallet (withdraw).
  • Do not share your card number, expiry date, CVV or 3DS codes with anyone you do not want to pay.

6. Fees

We charge fees for creating cards, for keeping each card active every month, and for moving money onto and off cards. The current fees are listed on our website, and the exact amount is shown before you confirm an action. We may change our fees. New fees apply from the date we publish them.

Monthly card fees are paid from your wallet. If your wallet balance is lower than the monthly fee when it is due, the card is blocked permanently. Any money left on that card goes back to your wallet, and you are not charged that fee.

7. Withdrawals and transfers

You can withdraw your wallet balance using the methods shown in your account, and you can send balance to other HideTap users. Make sure the details you enter are correct. Withdrawals and transfers sent to the wrong address or user usually cannot be reversed. We may hold or review a withdrawal or transfer to protect you or to prevent fraud.

8. Things you must not do

You must not use HideTap, directly or indirectly, for:

  • anything illegal where you or the merchant are located;
  • fraud, including chargeback fraud or using cards or crypto that are not yours;
  • money laundering, terrorist financing or getting around sanctions;
  • buying illegal goods or services;
  • attacking, testing for weaknesses in, overloading or scraping our service;
  • creating accounts with false details, or using someone else's account.

9. Blocking cards and closing accounts

We may block a card, limit an account or close an account if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms, if we see signs of fraud or other illegal activity, or if a card partner, payment processor or the law requires it. Where the law allows, we will return any remaining balance to you, minus fees you owe. We may withhold funds where the law requires it or where we reasonably believe they come from fraud.

You can stop using HideTap and ask us to close your account at any time by contacting support.

10. Service availability

We work to keep HideTap available, but we do not promise it will always be available, error-free or accepted by every merchant. HideTap depends on card partners, payment processors and blockchain networks that we do not control, and their delays or outages may affect your deposits, cards or payments.

11. Our liability

HideTap is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost opportunities. We are also not liable for losses caused by your own mistakes (such as sending crypto on the wrong network), merchants declining a card, or events outside our reasonable control. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above, and for important changes we will tell you by email or in your account. If you keep using HideTap after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.

13. Contact us

If you have questions about these Terms, email [email protected] or contact us through live chat on our website.
