Why your card might not work on Claude
If your card is declined, the problem is usually your bank, not Claude. Here are the common reasons:
- Your bank blocks payments to other countries. Many banks stop monthly payments to foreign companies.
- Your card is not in US dollars. Claude charges in dollars. Some cards can't pay in another currency.
- There is not quite enough money on the card. When you pay, Claude holds a small extra amount for a short time. If your card only has the exact price, the payment fails.
- You missed the security code. Some payments ask for a one-time code (this is called 3D Secure). If you don't enter it in time, the payment fails.

Step by step: pay for Claude with crypto
- Add crypto to your wallet. In your dashboard, choose Deposit and pick a coin. We accept 19 coins through Cryptomus and 2328.io. Send your coins on the network your wallet shows. Sending on the wrong network can lose your money.
- Make a card. Go to Cards and make a Shield 3DS Card.
- Put money on the card. Add the plan price plus a few dollars. For Claude Pro, about $25 is enough.
- Add the card to Claude. On claude.ai, open Settings, then Billing, and pick your plan. Type in the card number, expiry date and CVV. For the billing address, copy the one from your card page exactly.
- Enter the security code if asked. If a check screen opens, go to your card page. You will find the 3DS password and the latest one-time code there. Type the code in before it expires.
That's it. Your plan starts right away. Claude will charge the same card again each month.

Claude Pro costs less than 30 EUR, so the $0.87 fee applies each month. The $10 monthly fee is per card, not per subscription. If you also pay for ChatGPT, hosting or ads, use the same card and share that $10. You always see the exact fees before you confirm anything.
How to keep your plan from stopping
- Add money two days early. Crypto can take time to arrive. Don't wait until the day your plan renews.
- Keep a little extra on the card. A few dollars more than the plan price is enough.
- Keep money in your wallet for the monthly fee. If your wallet can't pay the $10 when it's due, the card is closed for good. Any money left on it goes back to your wallet.
